 | Introduction to GPS and GIS Friday, March 26 (04:30 PM) | | | LCOOCC Extension Dept. will be holding a one day workshop on the use of
Garmin GPS, Trimble GPS, Forestry GIS (fGIS), Trimble GPS Software, and
USAPhotomaps in the Extension Department's Pipestone Lab. The workshop is for
Tribal Members, private landowners, natural resource professionals, and others
interested in learning how readily available and easy to use technology can help with
natural resources management. Participants will learn the fundamentals of using a
Garmin GPS device, collecting and transferring data, and using laptop computers with
mapping software to generate simple maps. This workshop is for beginners with basic
computer knowledge.
